free 'Walk-Through' tours are available Sunday & Thursday afternoons .... May through October, between the hours of 1:30pm & 4:30pm.

Museum Interior-

Research Room

The Museum houses a variety of artifacts that chronicle the settlement and development of the Clearfield area. During our regularly scheduled hours visitors are free to wander around the Museum and Carriage House at their leisure. There are always several volunteers on hand to answer any questions you may have. Tours for large groups must be booked in advance. A prearranged tour can usually be scheduled any day of the week including the winter months when museum is normally closed.

"Bloody Knox" Cabin Museum

Tour includes information on early settlers, the formation of the County, and the early trades our ancestors practiced. A museum volunteer presents the tour of the museum. Allow 45 minutes for the tour. The Museum can also arrange for a package history tour which includes the "Bloody Knox" Cabin.

As always there is no fee to tour our facilities.

Kerr 'MANSION' House, 14 living area, details:

PORCH, Inviting, comfortable wrap-around porch, available to sit & view Susquehanna River, year round!
ENTRANCE HALLWAY, A gracious entry vestibule awaits your visit!
PARLOR, One-time parlor, contains County artifacts, paintings, indigenous arrows & pottery, local inventions.
LIBRARY, Featuring County industries including Kurtz Bros., Clearfield Furs and local brick making industries.
KITCHEN, Coal cook-stove with familiar utensils. Collection of photos for hotels from around the County.
DINING ROOM, Table set similar to Kerr family of c1900. Shelving used by servants, some local glass & stained windows.
2ND PARLOR, Displaying working pump organ, ceiling oil lamp, executive desk, maps & land warrants, family jewelry.
CHILDRN'S ROOM, Period clothing, toys, dolls, carriages.….even the Santa Clause from Leitzinger Dept. Store.
MASTER BEDROOM, Period furniture, dressing area, spinning wheel. Textile closet, quilts, coverlets made by County residents.
MOURNING ROOM, A Victorian era display of death and funeral relics and practices.
MEDICAL ROOM, Photos of local physicians, nurses, surgeons. Display of medical & technical instruments.
SPORTS/MUSIC/POLITICAL ROOM, Mix of sports, music & political memorabilia relative to some of our County's involved characters.
MILITARY ROOM, A military history prize collection for enthusiasts. Filled with uniforms, weapons, articles of involved conflicts.
HUNTING ROOM, An outdoor display including immense 19 point elk antlers, photos of camps and selected tales of characters.
STAIRCASE & LANDINGS, Displaying working pump organ, ceiling oil lamp, executive desk, maps & land warrants, family jewelry.
UPSTAIRS HALLWAY, Displaying ornate crafted hand rails, steps and risers. Lined with period photos of County history.
BASEMENT, Memorabilia of early coal & Lumber industry. Tools, implements, photos, even a 'mock coal mine entrance'!
CARRIAGE hOUSE, Displays dedicated to fire fighters. 1900 horse drawn steam pumper, hose cart. Plus a horse drawn hearse! Sharing this area are telephone, radio, airmail and misc. gadgets utilized / manufactured in the County.
